Advanced Criminal Intelligence Analysis to Prevent Terrorism

There is no tuition fee for this NW3C class for anyone actively employed with a State, Local or Tribal Law Enforcement agency.

For any class with a duration of 2 days or more, NW3C will charge Federal employees $750.00 per student. Agencies will receive an invoice upon completion of the training.

This 5-day training is for law enforcement personnel who have successfully completed a basic intelligence analysis training.

Law enforcement intelligence for counterterrorism requires a more strategic or predictive approach to deal with both domestic and international terrorist threats. This training helps law enforcement analysts become aware of intelligence processes used in the national security arena, and law enforcement’s role in the intelligence community. Some of the topics covered in the training are:

  • Relating law enforcement to homeland security
  • Models and strategies of national security intelligence
  • Sources of information
  • Intelligence consumers
  • Social Network Analysis
  • Structured Analysis of Competing Hypotheses
  • The Target Centric Approach
  • Analytical pitfalls
  • Dealing with large amounts of information
  • Case studies (practice working with the analytic methodologies)
  • Briefing various intelligence consumers

Seating is limited and proof of prerequisite is required.
