Practitioners. Please register using your agency-issued email. Course Description This course addresses the
critical need for well-trained intelligence analysts to interpret growing
amounts of information. This introductory course covers the history and purpose
of intelligence analysis and the importance of strategic analysis. The course
was developed by a consortium that included NW3C, Law Enforcement Intelligence
Units (LEIU), the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence
Analysts (IALEIA), and the Regional Information Sharing System (RISS). Key concepts covered in this course include: • Analysis basics • Types

• Creative and critical
thinking • Deterring crime • Hands-on
experience
Students who
complete this course and pass the post-test are eligible for 1.0 point toward
the CECFE, 3CI, and 3CIA certifications.

BYOD Course This is a BYOD (bring your own device) course. You will use your own laptop computer for all in-class
exercises. Computer Requirements The hands-on practical exercises are
intensive, critical to understanding the material being taught, and required to
successfully complete the class. If your computer hardware does not meet the
mandatory requirements listed below, your experience in taking the class will be
less than ideal and may also impact other students while the instructors take
time to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
