This webinar provides fundamental knowledge about human
trafficking including defining the crime, addressing why it occurs and why it is
unique, reviewing the relevant human trafficking criminal laws, and providing
information on how to identify human trafficking, start an investigation, and
prosecute the case.

Andrew Cogar is the branch office supervisor in the Clarksburg office, U.S.
Attorney’s office, Northern District of West Virginia. Since joining the
U.S. Attorney’s Office in 2007, Mr. Cogar has prosecuted white collar crimes,
drug and violent crimes, firearm offenses, and public corruption. He also
co-founded and co-chairs the West Virginia Human Trafficking Task Force, and
recently served as Senior Litigation Counsel in the U.S. Attorney’s
Office.
