This presentation will be an overview of the various bits of information
available to investigators from cell phones. The presentation will cover
information available from physical cell phones such as digital data
extractions, the cell phone providers such as phone call/communication detail
records (CDRS, location data such as historic cell site/sector data, and,
Internet cloud-based sources such as smartphone apps, websites, etc. The
overview will also provide a brief introduction to the major forms of cell phone
surveillances possible by law enforcement.
